A twenty-year veteran of the hospitality and meetings industries with numerous accolades under his belt, Michael has dedicated his professional life to perfecting the art of executing the ideal event. After graduating with a bachelor of science degree from Florida International University’s esteemed School of Hospitality Management, Michael moved to New York, beginning his career in sales and marketing positions within the hospitality industry. He spent ten years in national sales positions for various deluxe hotel companies, all with global properties. Following that invaluable training, he opened his own sourcing, meeting planning, and consulting firm: Site Search & Select. Another key personal and professional benchmark occurred when Michael became President of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Greater New York Chapter during the 2001–2002 year—sadly, the year that also marked the 9/11 tragedy.

 

William Finklea / Vice President, Operations & Sourcing

Bill Finklea focuses his own varied expertise on top-notch sourcing, vendor relations, and contract negotiations. In addition, he handles finance, risk, and general operations for the company.

A native Texan, Bill graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree from University of Texas – Austin in 1978. After starting out in the ranching and banking industries, he launched his own real estate development firm. But Bill’s passion for art history eventually took him to London, where he studied at Christie’s Education London, the notable auction house. He brought his knowledge with him to New York, spending time in SoHo and enjoying the prominent art scene. He joined Site Search & Select as partner in 1994, enabling him to blend his passion for travel with his business acumen. A true globe-trotter, Bill has visited every continent. That time spent absorbing other cultures and networking with all sorts of people has made him not just a savant of international culture, but also a seasoned sourcing expert.

 

Brien Arone / Senior Director – Global Business Development

Brien has joined Site Search & Select as Senior Director – Global Business Development after 14 years with The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. He started his career with The Providence Marriott in Providence, RI and The Charleston Place Hotel in Charleston, SC before his many years with The Ritz-Carlton. During this last tenure, he was awarded the prestigious “Chairman’s Circle Award of Excellence” by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company consecutively for the last 6 years.

Brien’s success was measured by a culmination of having the highest meeting planner scores, the most accurate event forecasting/ budgeting, event planning experience and sales knowledge. This has led Brien to establishing his place in the Top 3% of Sales, Marketing and Conference Service Managers in the World for Ritz-Carlton. His experience will allow him to work on programs of all shapes and sizes including, but not limited to: incentive trips, conventions, training meetings, product launches, associations, non-profits and executive level programs.

Brien covers the Northeast and Southeast markets from beautiful Sarasota, Florida. He enjoys the never ending Sunshine with his wife and son and spreads that sunshine everywhere he goes.
